Looking for something to do this weekend? I’m pretty sure there is something going on for everyone. So lets get started.
Do you like Coffee (or in my case have coffee running through your veins)? Skyline Coffee located at the VFW Post 577 is having it’s grand opening Saturday morning at 7 am. https://okveterans.com/calendar/skyline-coffee-grand-opening/ Once you are caffeinated, stay to attend the Flag Retirement Ceremony starting at 8 am. Don’t forget breakfast from 8 am – 10 am.
Congressman Hern’s office still has ONE spot left at 9:30 am for a veteran to share their story. You have to sign up though, can’t just show up. https://okveterans.com/calendar/congressman-herns-veterans-history-day-2/
At 10 am, the Traveling Military Museum exhibit opens at the American Legion Post 1. All are invited to come browse through a piece of our history as shown in photos, uniforms, artifacts and memorabilia. This is free to the public, although lunch is available for $5. https://okveterans.com/calendar/traveling-museum-open-house/2019-06-15/
Go home and take a nap, because starting at 5 pm at the Flying T in Jenks is the Riverwalk Rally, sponsored by the American Veterans Motorcycle Club. There will be live music, food specials, a raffle and silent auction and a kids zone. The event is free, but it is a fundraiser for various veteran organizations. https://okveterans.com/calendar/riverwalk-rally/
There ya have it! Start the day off with coffee, end with a party 😊. Have fun and hang out with friends.
